Following the directives of UGC Anti- Ragging Committee has been effectively working in the college to provide a congenial atmosphere to students. The following activities were conducted by the Anti- Ragging Cell to spread awareness amongst students and parents during the academic year 2019-20. In Prospectus, one page was allotted mentioning ‘Regulations on curbing menace of ragging in higher educational institutions’. Annual meeting of Anti Ragging Committee was conducted on 3/3/2020 in which new committee members were nominated, activities for the next academic year were planned and they were informed that no case of Ragging was reported during the entire year. Celebration of various days and events in a way that fosters friendly relations among the students were encouraged. Following the recommendations of the Supreme Court and UGC, Anti-Sexual Harassment Committees have been actively operative in the college to provide a healthy and pleasant atmosphere to the staff and students. The following activities were conducted by the Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee to spread cognizance amongst students and parents during the academic year 2019-20: In the beginning of the Academic Year 2019-20 a Parents’ and Students’ Orientation Programme was conducted wherein students were sensitized about remaining cautious while going to unknown places. Also, how to handle tactfully any problematic situation was also discussed by sharing few examples of past students who bravely overcame the situation which might have resulted into negative consequences. Six-Days Self Defense Camp was conducted from 09/12/19 to 14/12/19 to acquaint students with tactics of avoiding sexually harassing behavior & to educate them with the ways & means to be adopted for escaping from such situations. New Short-term Course – ‘Cyber Security Fundamentals’ has been introduced for students. This enables students to learn about self-guarding themselves in the era of digitalization & also helps them to prevent their exploitation by protecting their privacy in the real sense. Seminar on ‘Child Abuse & Sexual harassment & Emotional Intelligence’ was organized on 03/12/19 by Mr. Manish Gupta, Director, Buddhi World, Chennai. He focused on burning issues like gang rape, child rape cases etc & passed the message that one’s own safety lies in one’s own hands so we all need to assure our own safety by not just believing anyone blindly. Seminar on ‘Gynecological, Psychological & Sexual Problems of Young Women’ was conducted by Dr. Purnima Nadkarni – Director, 21st Century Fertility Centre, Nimaaya, Surat on 28/08/19. She enlightened young girls about taking care of hygiene & educated them along with the preventive measures in case of any kind of sexual problems. A ‘Demonstration of 181-Mahila Helpline’ was organized on 28/08/18 & 29/8/18 by Ms. Harsha Dodia, WLR (Constable) & Ms. Priyanka Gamit, Counsellor, 181 Mahila Helpline, Surat Mahila Police. A Seminar on ‘Anti Sexual Harassment’ was organized on 9/1/19 by Mrs. Geeta Shroff, Social Worker & Activist. The Committee provides confidential and responsive atmosphere for students and staff members that fosters a respectful and safe campus environment.

A ‘Demonstration of 181-Mahila Helpline’was organized by Ms. Hemali Boghawala, Director, Mahila Suraksha Samiti. An awakening Session on ‘Anti Sexual Harassment’ was organized by Mrs. Geeta Shroff,Social Worker & Activist. A Seminar on ‘Cyber Crime Against Women’was organized by Mr. Snehal Vakilna, a renowned advocate and cyber crime expert. Group Day with social message was also celebrated by the Students’Council to spread the awareness.

A Seminar on “Women Empowerment” was organized on 5/8/2015 by Dr. Ami Yagnik- a Social Activist & Consulting Surgeon, Abhinav Hospital Ghod Dod Road, Surat. Workshop on ‘181- Mahila Helpline Awareness’ was conducted on 13/10/2015 by Savita R Chavda, Counselor, Katargam Police Station.
