Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal, an Orientation Programme was organised for the parents’ of FY B.Com, BBA & M.Com.-I students at the central hall of SPTMC of Vanita Vishram, Surat on 17th September, 2019, Tuesday.
The motive was to familiarize parents, as “partners in progress” with the parent’s role in student’s progress, college curriculum, rules and regulations, and the other college related activities.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the parents. The college Principal, Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal addressed the gathering. 159 parents from the B.Com & M.Com. and 81 parents of the BBA students attended the meeting.
In her speech she briefed parents about the parents’ role to support and guide their child to prepare better for their life, journey of the college with a vision & mission of women empowerment, college infrastructure and Vocational and Professional courses run in the college. She highlighted about the best practices followed by awareness & community outreach programmes conducted in the college. Parents were also informed about the university results, the college toppers and Scholarships, Free-ships and Cash Prizes given by the college to the meritous and deserving students as a token of appreciation for their hard work.She gave a glance of the activities conducted in the college like day’s celebration, annual functions, competitions, NSS activities, sports.. In her speech she also laid stress on frequent parents meet with professors. She also gave guidance about effective parenting. Parents also shared their satisfied views about the college and its activities.
The orientation programme proved to be sincere effort made by the college in educating the parents about the affairs of the college.
Overall it was a fruitful meeting and parents were in high spirits after attending the orientation programme.
